Managed by Mr. Lam Dang, a Professional Engineer with over 20 years of direct experience in soil and materials testing, the 1,000 square foot laboratory facility is equipped to conduct a full complement of geotechnical tests including the following:
- Grain-Size Characterization - Mechanical Analysis, Grain-Size Distribution with Hydrometer and Sand Equivalent
- Moisture/Density Relationship
- Strength and Compressibility - Unconfined Compression, Direct Shear, Triaxial (unconsolidated undrained, consolidated undrained with pore pressure measurements, consolidated drained), Consolidation Testing (with and without time-rate)
- Specific Gravity
- Liquid Limit and Plastic Limit
- Expansion Index
- Hydraulic Conductivity - Rigid wall, constant head, Flexible wall
- R-Value (pavement design)
- Corrosion testing (minimum resistivity, pH, sulfates, chlorides, etc.)
- Concrete and masonry strength testing
